Beyond The Rivers of Sudan

Adier does a great job of telling the history of Sudan. He also uses a lot of personal stories that add a lot to his book. It is a great read written by a man who was directly affected by the war.

Beyond The Rivers of Sudan

This book is well written. I love the chapter about the origin of the people of Sudan and the connection to the Bible as they decent through Noah. I didn’t know prophet Moses was married to a Sudanese!

What They Meant for Evil

This was powerful story which I didn’t know about civil wars going on in South Sudan. Busy with my own life,Im thankful to Rebecca Deng telling her story of what her people, family and she went through, I had know ideal. I wanted to read it quickly to find out what happens to her. A testimony of faith for such a young girl, who turns out to be an amazing woman of faith. She also tells that good over comes evil. Interesting and compelling story of her life and what she went through and by the grace of God she makes it!

What They Meant for Evil

This is a book I would recommend to others, and would read it again. It is a story of hope and stands in stark contrast to the overall victim mentality of this era. Rebecca is a survivor of Sudan’s civil war. She is considered one of the LOST GIRLS of that time. She lost her parents at a very young age. She is grateful for the support of extended family, the opportunity to come to the US as a refugee, a new family in this country, but most of all for God’s care over her through all of her suffering and grief.
